In some celebrity marriages, even the most distant of spectators can see the end coming from a mile away. That was not the case for singer Seal and his wife, supermodel and reality TV host Heidi Klum. Yet despite their annual vow renewal ceremonies and constant proclamations of love for one another, the couple recently separated and announced their plans to divorce after seven years of what appeared to be wedded bliss.

Klum and Seal were married in 2005 and were raising four children together: one daughter from an earlier relationship of Klum's, and two sons and one daughter born during the marriage.

During their nearly seven-year marriage, the couple's connection seemed rock-solid. However, anonymous sources said that their relationship had grown volatile, and that they were fighting more in recent months. The sources also said that Seal was growing resentful of Klum's increased focus on her television career.

But according to a statement from the couple, it seems that their busy schedules and lack of time together is to blame for their split. "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate," they said in a statement. "We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."

As with most celebrity splits, it is likely that Klum and Seal will resolve their property settlement, child custody and other issues in a confidential divorce settlement agreement.
